Legal Help during the COVID – 19 Pandemic
Legal Services are an essential service allowed to continue during the Governor’s “Stay at Home” order. While court hearings are limited at this time to observe social distancing, Central Minnesota Legal Services is operating in a virtual environment and staff are available to provide advice and other limited services to clients.
Our state wide website www.LawHelpMN.org has a new resource that pulls together all of LawHelpMN’s COVID-specific content at this link: How does the COVID-19 Pandemic affect my legal rights? This resource provides a brief summary of each area of law impacted by COVID, with a link out to the relevant fact sheets for more information.
A concern for many people is their rights as a tenant. Please go to this link for a COVID Renters’ Rights fact sheet that has helpful information for tenants.
CMLS will continue to operate in a virtual environment until the Chief Justice of Minnesota issues other guidelines. Please check back for updates.
